About Us...
Marechal Cattery
Marechal Cattery is a veterinary inspected and certified, family owned
cattery located in West Virginia. Currently we are breeding Bengal, Chausie, Safari and
Bengal cats. We take pride in finding loving homes for our babies. We go to
great lengths and expense to make sure your kitten is healthy, well socialized
and ready to join your family when it leaves ours.
Our Bengals are from Championship lines and most of our cats are shown
frequently and are at a minimum Champion titled.
We breed F1 (50% Asian Leopard Cat / 50% domestic Bengal) - SBT (Stud Book
Tradition) Bengals. F1's are available to special homes only and we are very
particular about where these kittens are placed.
Our goal is to have every kitten born here be at least what is considered
'breeder" quality and we selectively breed to achieve that goal. We often have
young retired breeders available as we work towards our goal so please check our
Available page for those listings if you are interested in a young adult.
We only feed Life's Abundance foods from

Our History
Sheryl Koontz was raised around numerous animals and also worked for a
veterinarian for over 20 years. She has bred and trained dogs throughout her
lifetime and currently is breeding working line German Shepherds. Sheryl holds a
Class 2 Fish and Wildlife Permit from the state of Florida for exotic animals,
which requires 1000 hours of hands on experience for the particular type of
animal, in this case it is for Serval cats.
We fell in love with the hybrid cats after adopting a Bengal cat from a local
shelter years ago. It was a natural progression for us to move to the breeding
of these incredible animals once our hearts were stolen.
Marechal Cattery is a professional cattery and not a "hobby" breeding cattery.
Our name and reputation is very important to us and we do our very best to
produce healthy kittens with amazing temperaments. We stand behind our
cats 100% and have many happy new clients as well as many repeat customers whose
comments can me seen on our
Clients
page.

Future Goals
Our plans for the future are aimed at bringing the cats we breed to the
Championship status in The International Cat Association.
The Chausies are getting close and showing our cats over the next two years will
be key in the breed achieving that goal.
Bengals are already at that level in TICA and in the ACFA the silver Bengal has
just been accepted. Beginning next May we can show our silvers in the
Championship class in ACFA.
The Savannah's are on the rise in the show halls. We have a way to go with them
still but we can now show our 3rd generation cats in the halls, but they cannot
be shown for Championship.
The newest breed is the Safari. Very few of them exist at this time and we are
very proud and excited to have reached the F2 level in our breeding program. This breed
will take years to develop but it is our goal to be one of the founding
developers of the breed.
